Why the water flow is slow?

    日常工作中,经常收到客户反馈说净水器出水量越来越少了,是不是RO膜的问题呀?这都是习惯性思维,毕竟反渗透膜在净水器中的角色太重要了,且价格不菲。但是更换了新的RO膜后,出水仍然缓慢。净水器出水慢或者出水少是很多原因的。


Some customers may complain that the water output of the water purifier is getting less and less. Is it caused by the reverse osmosis membrane? Maybe they are right, as the RO membrane is quite important to water purifier, and it’s expensive. However, after replacing the RO membrane, why the water flow is still slow. Let’s find out the reasons.

第一,RO膜堵塞

RO膜的更换周期一般为12到24个月,如果使用时间超过膜的寿命,膜就容易堵塞,净水器出水慢。

First, RO membrane is blocked.
 
It’s recommended to replace ro membrane every 12 to 24 months. If the use time exceeds the working life of membrane, the membrane will be easily blocked and the water output will be slow.
 
另外,原水水质太差,像印度南部或者巴基斯坦的原水,高达3000ppm 以上,而废水回收率过高,容易导致废水电磁阀或清洗组合阀堵塞,机器几乎不排放废水,膜的寿命也会缩短。

In addition, like South India or Pakistan, the quality of raw water is very poor with tds > 3,000ppm, and the recovery rate is quite high, which will easily cause the waste water solenoid valve or the cleaning combination valve to be blocked.  There is almost no waste water to be discharged, and the working life of membrane will be shortened.

还有一种情况是,膜本身的质量不好,影响产水,也起不到净化水的效果。

Another reason is that the quality of membrane is not good. This not only affects the water production, but also cannot purify water.

第二,前置预处理滤芯堵塞

其他前置预处理滤芯,PP棉和其他活性炭滤芯,使用时间太长,滤芯堵塞,机器内部的水质浓度就会被堆积,比进入滤芯前的水质差得多。除了出水慢,还会污染整个净水器。所以,及时更换滤芯,尽量购买有自动冲洗功能的净水器,可以让滤芯和RO膜干净点。

Second, the pre-pretreatment filter element is blocked.

For other pre-pretreatment filter elements, like PP and other activated carbon filter elements, if they are used for a longer time, the filter elements will be blocked. In this way, the water concentration inside the purifier will be accumulated, which is much worse than the water before entering the filter element. Besides slow water output, it will also pollute the whole water purifier. Therefore, replacing the filter element in time, trying to buy a water purifier with automatic flushing function, can keep the filter element and RO membrane as clean as possible.

第三,泵的压力小

水泵压力不足,会导致原水达不到膜制水的水压,影响产水量。特别水质不好的地方,增压泵压力要根据原水质量适当调整。一般来说,使用2年以上的反渗透净水器或长期运行的反渗透净水器,增压泵的寿命也将相应缩短的。

Third, the pump pressure is low.

Due to insufficient water pump pressure, the raw water fails to reach the pressure of membrane, and cannot produce too much water.
 
Especially when the water quality is not good, the pressure of the booster pump should be adjusted appropriately according to the quality of the raw water.
 
Generally speaking, if you use a RO water purifier for more than 2 years, or the RO purifier keeps long-time running, the life of booster pump will be shortened accordingly.

第四,温度低

产水速度与温度有关一般以25为基准,每减少1,水产量就会减少3%所以冬天比夏天的出水速度下降一半以上,北方地区和南方地区出水也有很大区别。因此,冬季净水器要做好防寒防冻措施。
 
Fourth, the temperature is low

The rate of water production is related to temperature, generally based on 25 ℃, and every 1 ℃ decrease will reduce water production by 3%.

Therefore, the water output rate in winter is over 50% lower than that in summer, and there is a big difference of water output between northern and southern regions. So, it should take cold-resistant measure of the purifiers in winter.
